Question: How have you handled a mistake at work?


“I remember this one shift it was dinner and busy. We were low on staff. I was rushing and had two plates. I crashed into the door and dropped a plate. I accepted that it happened. 

First I went to deliver the surviving plate. Next I went to the table whose plate I dropped and explained the situation. I said that we will remake the food and add in an extra side for free to make up for it. Next I cleaned up the mess and then had the order replaced.”
