Foodborne infections can result when a person eats food containing pathogens. These pathogens or bacteria then grow in the intestines and cause illness. Onset times range from 30 minutes to 6 weeks depending on the particular pathogen.
Common Symptoms
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Fever
- Nausea
- Abdominal cramps
- Jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes)
