Certified Nursing Assistant

Qualifications

• Must have Certified Nursing Assistant Certification from an accredited program and a minimum of one (1) year paid or volunteer experience working with frail-memory-impaired or confused elderly
• Any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the skill level required to perform the duties of the position may qualify
• Must have the ability to communicate and empathize with frail/memory-impaired or confused elderly
• Must have motivation, sensitivity, patience, and the willingness to work with demented older adults
• Valid California Driver’s License, Class C, have and maintain
• Successful candidates for this position will be required to submit proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or request an exemption for qualifying medical or religious reasons during the onboarding process
• Please submit the required license, certificate, or registration with the State as evidence of professional or technical proficiency at the same time of filing the application
• The Human Resources Officer will require necessary verification of qualifications as specified in the job bulletin

Job description

Per LA County Ordinance #2021-0066U, all City of Gardena employees performing duties under the Los Angeles County’s Elderly Nutrition Program Grant must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. Successful candidates for this position will be required to submit proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or request an exemption for qualifying medical or religious reasons during the onboarding process. Candidates should not present proof of vaccination until instructed to do so by the hiring department.

Testing Process:

• Minimum Qualification Screening – Pass/Fail
• Supplemental Questions – Pass/Fail
• Oral Interview – 100% of total score
• Testing process is subject to change
• Candidates must pass all examinations to be placed on the eligible list.
