Identifying Your Channel
You may know what an influencer is and a few ways to get there, but do you know what you would be as an influencer? A key component of any outward facing media is knowing who your audience is and who you are relative to them. It’s about figuring out what value you can provide, who you should associate with, and so-on.
So consider your niche. A niche is the environment you thrive in. It’s the general field you feel comfortable speaking about, your expertise. For instance a musician might make content about rock history because its their interest, they’re good at it, or because their day job involves teaching music. A gamer might make tutorials to solve problems players face in specific games, or maybe they just show off their skills and have a good time with their fans.
Usually you need a hook that will define your channel, you can’t just be “you”. This niche not only defines the channel, but it defines the type of product the person sells. No niche, no product, no money. Examples include, make-up influencers, fashion influencers, foodies, gamers, musicians, artists, ASMR, and so-on.
