Defining an Influencer
An influencer is a celebrity of sorts that influences others’ buying decisions. Your ultimate purpose is to sell products. That’s how you make money as an influencer!
Sell-out? Not a chance! Selling product doesn’t take away the magic behind the art of online entertainment, and even famous artists have to sell their own work to survive! Since most influencers don’t sell content, they need to monetize advertising space. (And, if you think you can get away with just ads before and after your videos, think again— those rarely pay enough to sustain a career influencer! Be ready to sell direct!)
So how much do influencers make? The average income for an influencer earns is between $30,000 to $50,000 a year, which is barely minimum wage! And it gets worse; the majority of influencers make far less, and even nothing, as the highest payed influencers throw the curve.
But don’t give up! By promoting products mixed with quality content, an influencer can leverage their following to earn a ton of revenue.
