In this stage, you will share your business plan with someone else to receive valuable feedback. Before doing so, it’s crucial to proofread your document. Start by running a spell check to identify and correct any misspellings. Spell check is particularly useful for suggesting correct spellings for commonly misspelled words. While changing misspelled words to the correct ones, be mindful of certain terms like specific business, product, or place names that the spell checker might not recognize. For such terms, choose to ignore them if they appear infrequently or add them to your dictionary if they are frequently used in your document. This will prevent the spell checker from flagging these words in future checks. Additionally, you have the option to spell check individual words by selecting them and reviewing the suggested corrections. Once you’ve completed the spell check and updated your personal dictionary as necessary, your document is ready for the next step.

The next phase involves sharing your document with another individual for their input. Begin by typing the email address of the person with whom you wish to share your business plan. Then, set their permissions to either view, comment, or edit the document, depending on the level of interaction you want them to have. It’s important to include a brief message to the recipient, explaining that you’re seeking their feedback on the plan. After sending your message, use the comment function within your business plan to highlight specific areas where you would like feedback. Direct these comments to the person you’ve shared the document with, and be specific about the kind of feedback you’re looking for. You can also assign comments to particular individuals, which allows them to mark the comment as resolved once they have addressed it. By taking these steps, you invite constructive feedback that can greatly enhance the quality of your business plan.
