Question: What is selection bias?
Example
” Selection bias is when you have non-random data that is causing your results to skew towards whatever data you had obtained. This can happen if you sample a certain demographic instead of others, or at certain times instead of others, etc. There are a few statistical solutions to this problem, such as an instrumental variable or propensity score matching, but it’s always cleanest if you can simply avoid selection bias with proper random assignment. “
Tips
- Includes sampling bias, time interval, data bias, attrition, and more.
- Offer a solution if possible..
