Change the Design
Reading
Experimenting with design options in Google Sites allows you to refine the aesthetic of your one-page website beyond the initial theme selection. Although the chosen theme provides a cohesive design framework, individualizing the design of specific sections can significantly enhance the impact of your text and images. Start by accessing your website in editing mode. The theme you initially selected will dictate the general appearance of your text and the accent colors used throughout the site. To give your site a fresh appearance, consider changing the theme first. This adjustment can instantly transform the overall feel of your website. Next, focus on the font. Each theme offers a selection of three fonts, enabling you to choose one that aligns with the character of your content, be it modern or classic. Following the font selection, modify your accent color. You can opt for one of the preset options or select a custom color. This accent color will influence the appearance of headings and other thematic elements, subtly but effectively altering the visual dynamics of your site.
After these broader design changes, turn your attention to specific sections of your site. Changing the background color of a section, or using images as a background, can dramatically increase the visual appeal of your website. These alterations not only enhance the aesthetic value of your site but also help in highlighting key areas and making important information stand out. Once you’ve made these modifications, it’s crucial to preview your website. This step allows you to assess the impact of your design choices in a live environment, ensuring that everything harmonizes well on the new page. Such a preview is essential to confirm that your design choices effectively convey the intended message and appeal to your target audience.
